Faith 8 Months

Faith started sleeping through the night on May 27th. She went three nights in a row without waking up at all. After that she made it until 5 am one night, the the whole night again, and now is back to waking up at 5 am.

On June 3 Faith's two front bottom teeth popped through. I was feeding her puffs and felt something sharp against my finger. Sure enough two teeth were poking out just above the gum line. She hadn't been fussy or drooling anymore than usual so I wasn't expecting this.

She is crawling all over the place and starting to get into Bryce's stuff. We now have to be really careful about what toys are left laying on the floor, as everything goes into her mouth.

Her hair seems to be getting more and more red and still sticks straight up no matter what I do. People comment on how cute it is all the time. I just hope once it gets longer and thicker it will cooperate.

Faith is a great eater. For the most part she is still eating pureed foods along with a few fruits like blueberries and bananas. She also loves crackers. When she eats, she gets really into it and food ends up all over her, the chair and the floor. When you ask her if she wants food and do the sign for it, she gets a big smile on her face. She also smacks her lips.

Husen's Annual Family Summer BBQ

This is the second year that Grammy and Gramps have invited the whole family over for a BBQ. The little kids played in the pool, and the grown-ups tried to stay cool under the misters they set up. It was very hot.

The family also decided to surprise Uncle Don with a little graduation party. When he graduated from college the family never had a celebration. They always felt bad, so they decided better late than never.

Giants Game

Tom gave us tickets to the Giants game. We had a wonderful day. The weather was amazing, the ferry ride was enjoyable, and the Giants' won the game. Bryce enjoyed watching the game, but had just as much fun jumping up and down from his seat and watching all the people around him. Faith slept for the first part of the game and thankfully was content to sit in our laps for the rest of the game.

We didn't realize it until after the game, but Bryce's first time going to a Giants game was on June 14 of 2008 against the Padres and Faith's first game was June 14, 2009 against the Padres. What a weird coincidence.

Circus

The circus came to the Wells Fargo Center. We thought it would be a good opportunity for Nathan and I to spend some time alone with Bryce. Faith went to Nanny and Pawka's house while Nathan and I took him to the circus. He went on a huge blow-up slide, pet the animals, had his first cotton-candy, and watched the show. He loved the acrobats and the elephants. Towards the end of the show a bunch of clowns came out. He turned to me and quickly said, "I'm ready to go." I asked him if he was scared of the clowns and he said he was. We explained that the clowns were just people dressed up and that they weren't scary. He was okay with that and stayed until the end. After the show, we went to DePaoli's in Windsor for dinner. Bryce had delicious mac n' cheese - very gourmet. Nathan and I both had calzones. We had heard great things about this restaurant and on Tuesdays kids eat free.

Grammy's Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Grammy's birthday. The kids spent most of their time in the backyard on the swing. Faith went in a swing for the first time, but unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. She loved it.

Bryce enjoyed helping Grammy open her gifts.

Playdate with Auntie Em and Mason

We met Emily and Mason at Jack and Jill's in Petaluma for a morning of fun. Bryce and Mason had a great time playing with all the toys. Even though Bryce has a train table at home, he enjoyed all the train tables the most. Faith enjoyed getting loves from Auntie Em.

Bryce 2 Years 11 Months

This past month has been tough on us all. Pawka had brain surgery almost two weeks ago to remove a tumor. All of the stress and not having a normal routine has definitely affected Bryce. He has had two night terrors, one while napping and the other just a short while after falling asleep for the night. The night time one was the worst. He screamed/cried for almost 30 minutes. After about 20 minutes I got him to calm down enough to take a few sips of water. He proceeded to choke on the water, which made him throw-up in his bed. A little while latter I was holding him, with him facing me on the couch. He was practically hyperventillating. Between that and the crying, he worked himself up so much again that he threw up all over himself and all over me. It was awful. I felt so bad for him. After getting himself and me up to the shower, he finally was able to calm down. In addition to the terrors, he has been laying in bed awake until 10 or 10:30 and still getting up at normal time. He has tried to make up for the loss of sleep by taking marathon naps a few times, but it isn't the same. I just feel so bad that he can't express his feelings and that it is affecting him so much.

Aside from his sleeping issues Bryce has been doing great. I can't believe he will be turning 3 in just a month. Time goes so quickly.

With Faith crawling, Bryce is now getting used to having to share more of his toys. He is also learning which toys he has to share with Faith and which toys he can't let her have because they are a choking hazzard. Most of the time he is really good, however he hates it when she drools on his toys.

He is still very much into Cars. He is limited to watching half of the movie a day. He know this and now asks to ,"watch haalf my Cars moomie." While he watches Cars he lines up all of the Cars characters so that he can match them to his movie.

He has been more adventurous in his eating lately. He has been a little more willing to try different things again, although he is hoked on quesadillas right now. He ate a tuna sandwich the other day and willingly ate the rice and beans served with his quesadilla the other night when we were out to dinner. Veggies are still an issue, but he is getting better about eating meat.
