Faith 7 Months
Faith started crawling while we were in Spokane around the 13th of May. She gets up on her knees and can move one leg and then the other before ending up on her stomach. She then repeats the process. She can get just about anywhere she wants to go, it just takes some time. Before this, she could scoot herself around, but wasn't actually getting up on her knees. She also holds herself in a plank-like position, with only her toes and her hands touching the ground. She is very strong.
She is starting to take better naps. Morning naps are still short, anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Since we seem to be gone a lot in the morning she often naps in the car. I've been trying to consistently have her nap in her crib in the afternoon. Our trip to Washington through this off a bit, but she seems to be getting back into her routine. Her afternoon naps are about 1.5 - 2 hours. During this time she often wakes up and cries twice for about 5 or 10 minutes before falling back to sleep. I'm very thankful that her afternoon nap now coincides with Bryce's nap or quiet time. This gives me a little break to either work or get stuff done around the house. She is still waking up twice a night to eat, but then goes right back to sleep.
She is eating solid food just once a day still. She's had avocado, sweet potato, peas, squash, and cereal. She seems to like everything but the avocado. Soon I'll let her have fruit. I just wanted to start off with things that weren't quite as sweet. She has also had a few baby rice biscuits.
One of her favorite things to do is to make spitting noises. It is very cute, however she often chooses to do this with a mouth full of food. I might have to start wearing bibs when I feed her. When she does this she looks around the room to make sure everyone is watching her. She smiles when she sees that we are looking at her and she giggles. It is very entertaining. We might end up with two clowns in the family as she appears to be taking after Bryce in this regard.
