Disneyland - Day 2
After eating breakfast at the hotel, we went to the store to buy food in order to make breakfast and lunch in the hotel for the remainder of the trip. When we finished the shopping, we drove to the Disneyland Hotel. We arrived around 11. Check-in wasn't until 4, but thankfully one of our two connecting rooms was available. We were able to get all of the luggage into one of the rooms.
We got settled into the room, made lunch and then took some very excited children to Disneyland. We took the monorail into the park (the only time we were able to use the monorail because it was broken for most of our stay). Our first ride was Autotopia. Bryce got to steer the car, while I controlled the petal. We also went into Innoventions. They had a wonderful room with a Peter Pan theme. A storyteller was telling a condensed version of Peter Pan and the room was interactive, complete with a cannon. The kids really enjoyed this.
All the excitement wore Bryce out. He feel asleep in the stroller, which of course was very unusual for him.
That night we ate at The Rain Forest Cafe. We waited almost an hour for a table, but once we were seated the service was fairly fast. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals and the "storms."
We headed back into the park after dinner in order to see Fantasmic - a laser light show on the water along with fireworks. While we were waiting for the show to start we went on Pirates of the Caribbean, watched the Tikki show, and went in Tarzan's house.
The Fantasmic show was great. The water sprayed up in a fine mist while the laser show projected off of it. There were also Disney Characters, Captain Hook's pirate ship with a fight between Peter Pan and Hook, a fire breathing dragon (this scared Bryce) and a lot of other great sights. The fireworks started shortly after the Fantasmic show ended. By the time we got back to the room and got the kids in bed it was close to eleven o'clock. It was a long, but wonderful day.
