Easter Egg Hunt

We went to Grammy's work (Fireman's Fund) for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Bryce had a great time. He found 10 eggs. He was a little disappointed that the eggs were filled with little toys, stickers, or stamps rather than jelly beans. He had been looking forward to getting treats in his eggs. He got over it when he got to eat a muffin and a cookie - this served as his very nutritious lunch.

Mason and Bryce decorated cookies to give to their dads (the Daddies were both working). They also had a craft table, but the crafts were a little too involved for a 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old. We opted to take the craft supplies home and do them when we'd have more time and less distractions.

As you can see, they also got to meet the Easter Bunny. Thankfully none of the kids were too scared of the bunny. Mason was actually really curious and watched the bunny for a long time.

San Jose visit

.

The kids and I went down to San Jose for a few nights. We thought it would be a nice way to break up a long week during tax season. Nanny and Pawka came down a day after us, so we got in lots of great family time.

While we were there we had a fun morning at the park down the street from their house. We also had a pizza picnic while watching Trey's Little League game. Keeping two 2 1/2 year old entertained at a baseball game was not easy. They ran around like crazy and were not very well behaved. At one point, Bryce ran away from me and I had to chase after him. Needles to say he got a huge timeout for that.

The little kids got to go to the jumpy house place one morning while Juli and Trey were on a field trip. Nanny and I got in a lot of good jumping too. When we first arrived no one else was there, so we jumped with the kids without having to worry about looking silly.

Pawka also did a little construction work. Mandy's room had double doors that didn't shut properly. Pawka took the double doors out, made a wall, and put a single door back in. Mandy was very cute and thanked Pawka for making her a new door.

Faith found her toes.

Faith sucked on her toes so much that they wrinkled up like they do when you are in water for a long time.

Who said boys can't multi-task?

The kids are going to hate that we took and shared these pictures when they get older.

Bryce was doing his poopoo and getting his hair done by Mandy at the same time.

Lunch with Daddy and Pops

On our way down to San Jose, the kids and I stopped at Nathan's work and brought lunch for everyone. It was a nice break in the day for Nathan and Pops. It also helped to break up the drive time.

Pioneer Park

In addition to stopping at Nathan's work we stopped at Pioneer Park on our way to San Jose. Emily and Mason meet us there. As an added bonus, Grammy left work for a little while to come say hi. We also ran into Tyler and his son Tanner.

Bryce really liked the helicopter, however he had a little trouble sharing. He was also very into the swings. He is learning to pump his legs. He gets the leg part, but he doesn't pull his arms in opposition.

Bryce was a little afraid of the moving bridge on the play structure. In the past he has always really enjoyed jumping up and down on these.

Faith slept the whole time in the Ergo Carrier and missed all the fun.

Nathan's 30th Birthday

Since Nathan is in the middle of tax season, he didn't want to do a big birthday celebration. Instead we had three small celebrations. His mom and Chris came up on the 14th and brought dinner (steak, chicken, roasted veggies in a delicious sauce, and homemade bread). We celebrated as a family on his real birthday, the 17th with burgers, Caesar salad and garlic bread. Then my parents had us over for a birthday dinner on the 21st. My dad made crab stuffed fillet of sole, homemade focaccia bread, broccoli and salad.

We used the same pan of peanut butter brownies I made to celebrate all three birthdays.

Bryce ran around in his unders pushing his big blue dump truck while Gramps good the steak and chicken.

The cups Bryce and Nathan are holding in one of the pictures say "Big Guy" and "Little Guy". They are very cute.

Faith 5 Months Old

Faith is now rolling back and forth with ease. If you lay her on her back within 30 seconds she will roll over. This morning she rolled from her back to her stomach to her back again and ended up hitting her head on the wood floor. She was a bit shocked to hit hard floor rather than the soft mat she is used to.

She sat up by herself for the first time on the 19th. It only lasted a minute or two before she fell over.

She is still waking up 2 - 3 times a night to eat. The last several nights I've only feed her twice - hopefully we don't go back to 3 times. Everyone once in a while she has a bad night and I have to go in a couple of times to give her her binky and calm her down. She often wakes up around 6 or 6:30 and for fear of her waking Bryce up if we let her cry, I bring her into our bed for some cuddle time. Sometimes she falls back to sleep for another hour or so.

Faith is starting to scoot around on the ground. She can wiggle her way off her play mat and turn herself in different directions. She also really enjoys her exersaucer.

This past month she has also found her feet. She likes to pull at her socks.

After loosing most of the dark hair she was born with, over the last two or three weeks, it has really started to come in. Now the color is more of a light brown with lots of red highlights.

She is still a very happy baby.

I can't believe how quickly she is changing and growing up. I thought the time with Bryce went fast, but time with Faith seems to be flying even quicker. I feel like just yesterday she was a new-born and now she is an active baby.

Asleep at the table

We often put Faith in her Pod chair while we eat dinner. This way she feels like she is part of the family and is not being ignored by us. Our dinner conversation must have been very dull.

Jump House Fun

We took the kids to a wonderful Jump House place in San Jose. Bryce had a blast. Mandy was a little timid and didn't want to go down the slides or through the obstacle course. Trey also had a lot of fun. Faith was a good baby and watched all the action.
